Credit Card Classification Update

On September 9, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) announced that it would create a new Merchant Category Code (MCC) specific to firearm and ammunition retailers. MCCs are the codes that payment processing networks (like Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) use to categorize various transactions. This is the system that allows various credit cards to offer different benefits for certain categories of purchases or to charge different fees for those same categories.

This is concerning for obvious reasons. The most important thing to know at this time is that this has not been implemented! We are fortunate to be associated with Armed American News. They are journalists dedicated to protecting the Second Amendment, and will continue to monitor this situation and keep us up to date as to what is going on. Also, we specifically found our credit card processor, Fortis Pay, because of their commitment to fair treatment of gun dealers by credit card companies. They have informed me that we will still be classified as 'Sporting Goods', which has been the generic code for the firearm industry.

So once again, at this time we are still being treated as we always have been. If you would like to make a purchase without using a card, we have options for that as well! You can always check out on the site with a gift card, just enter it like a regular card at checkout. Also you can order over the phone and pay with any cash sending service (Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, etc). We will always have a way to discreetly get our members the shooting supplies they need!

We are dedicated to protecting your privacy, and will keep you informed as this situation evolves.
