Play Football and Shut Up

Play football and shut up

For the record, I stopped watching the NFL when they condoned the actions of a socialist loser named Colin Kaepernick and haven’t looked back. I’ve missed absolutely nothing about wasting my time watching the NFL. Absolutely nothing. I have no time in my life for nonsense and America-hating hypocrites such as multi-millionaire cry babies who kneel for the anthem at a game. Also for the record, I’m all for guys like Kaepernick and anyone else with the talent (NFL or otherwise) to grab as much of a slice of the American dream as they can muster up from those of us stupid enough to pay for it. That’s capitalism and yay for them for getting fat and happy. No problem there. I’m also all in for them saying what they want. My wish is they would keep it off the field for obvious reasons. Because they don’t, I’ve chosen to move on from their nonsense.

Along comes Joe Burrows, quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals virtue signaling his disdain for our right to bear arms. Again, no problem. This guy can say anything he wants in America just as loudmouth Steve Kerr of the Warriors, and others. However, it becomes our responsibility to respond to their gibberish.

Take Burrows’s recent comments regarding gun control. “With everything that’s going on, if you’re not going to outlaw everything, you’ve gotta at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody is using. I don’t think you should be able to just walk in there and buy one. You gotta be able to go through a rigorous process to buy something like that, I think.”

For starters, Joe, we do have a process. It’s called a “background check.” Both killers you’re undoubtedly referring to passed one. You being of the era of instant gratification should understand the fact that it doesn’t take weeks or months or even days or hours for that matter, for the paperwork to move between agencies in today’s day and age of instant communication. Sorry, it’s not “rigorous” enough for you but I’m betting based on your stupid comment about outlawing “everything,” your idea of “rigorous” means infringement. Something you likely don’t understand.

If pressed, I’m wondering if Joe Burrows would agree to “outlaw” automobiles, kitchen utensils, baseball bats (or any other blunt object that can be used to smack somebody with), rope, swimming pools, hands and feet, illegal narcotics (oops, already illegal), tall buildings, not so tall buildings, rubber hoses, crowbars, nail guns, subway platforms, motorcycles, small objects that kids choke on (it’s for the kids, don’t ya know), boats, jet skis, or anything else that millions upon millions of American’s use safely every day that can be considered dangerous if misused by, well, anybody who chooses to misuse them. The list is endless.

You get the idea.

Joe Burrows, like the rest of the lefty Kool-Aide drinkers, for some unbeknownst reason feels he must use his “platform” as an NFL quarterback to virtue signal his politics in an attempt to fit into the new woke environment over at NFL Plaza. (I’m still trying to figure out why the “platform” of being a football player ever gave anyone the idea we give a damn about their politics anyway, but I digress). Never mind why anyone really gives a crap about what a 20-something NFL quarterback, protected by all those evil guns really thinks other than his skills on the gridiron, which are no doubt great.

No question, based on his stupid comments, that Joe Burrows hasn’t yet figured out that by simply shutting his trap, he might just sell more jerseys, shoes, tickets, and anything else he is smart enough to put his name on. When will these morons finally wake up to the fact that they are an escape for the rest of us who simply want to watch a game?

This kind of nonsense and the condoning of it by a major sports league, like everything else that the left infects, is doing irreparable harm to the nation.

“My job is to play football,” he said.  Some advice to this young man. Do you really want to do something positive for your nation? Shut the hell up and do your job. Use your God-given talents to entertain those still willing to pay to watch you do what you do. Do it to the best of your abilities and leave us the hell alone. You do your job and part of my job won’t be calling out your idiotic, hair-brained, lefty virtue signaling and reminding you to stay in your lane.

We’ll all be better off for it and so will your wallet.
