Here are his weekly observations and prognostications:

• Given recent events, it’s probably a good time to stock up on AR mags and .556/223. If there is federal legal action or a ban coming or even discussed, prices will skyrocket. There is plenty of 5.56/223 available on the market now, but it is not cheap.
• The market for shotgun ammo is tight, but the Cheap Gun Club is offering 12-gauge buckshot for $0.58 per round. Any shotugun ammo sold for less than $0.60 per round is a good deal.
• .45 ACP has disappeared. Now, if you can find it you will pay more than $0.50 per round. No one knows what happened to the supply, but it might be a primer-shortage issue.
• The only ammo around in quantity is PMC, which is made in South Korea, although they, too, do not have .45 ACP.
• .380 and .40 continue to be available at decent prices.
• Hunting ammo — not tactical calibers — continues to be very expensive. One customer said he just bought 20 rounds of 45-70 and paid more than $60.
