Uvalde TX: Statement from AAN Editors

As individuals who have covered the issue of gun rights and freedoms for combined decades, we know that evil is real and there is no political answer to stopping evil. We also know there is no man-made law that will fix America’s problems, which are many. Evil does not follow the law and any new law will only serve to provide evil with another opportunity to do its bidding.

While Joe Biden and the Democrat party leadership scream for more of the same tired laws that don’t work, the rest of us will have to get to work fixing the problem. We know how to solve this problem and it should have been done years ago. It starts by providing our children, the most vulnerable among us, with the same level of security we give to banks, actors, sports venues, concerts, and politicians.

While we know we can not wipe evil from the face of the Earth, we know from experience that by hardening the target, starting with the same techniques already in place at the above-mentioned venues, combined with a layer of proven, real, common sense, security measures inside the buildings, we can make it near impossible for the monsters who perpetrate these events from completing their mission or even showing up on site.

This incredibly tragic event and too many others before it did not have to happen. It is decades past the time to finally push the political ruling class aside and make the necessary changes ourselves that will stop these events from ever happening again.
