Joe Rogan recently sat down with Colion Noir to discuss all things firearms and the Second Amendment. During the discussion, the two compared driving a car – which is a privilege – to owning and carrying a firearm – which is a Constitutional right.
Rogan admitted he has a concealed carry permit and had to go through an exhaustive process to obtain the permit.
“When I got a concealed carry permit, I had to go through an extensive examination, which also involved showing that you’re proficient at shooting,” Rogan explained.
This isn’t the first time Rogan has shown support for our right to keep and bear arms.
A few weeks ago, the podcast host explained why he’s against firearms confiscation.
“It’s like, how do you stop that? No one knows how to stop that. What is the answer? Is the answer to take everyone’s guns? Well, they’re not gonna give their guns up,” Rogan explained. “Only criminals are gonna have guns. It’s not gonna be a good situation. Is the answer to make schools these armored compounds, where you have armed compounds, where you have armed guards outside of every school? … Boy, that’s not something we want either.”
But Rogan said it best 9.5 years ago:
This country has a mental health problem disguised as a gun problem and a tyranny problem disguised as a security problem.
— Joe Rogan (@joerogan) January 27, 2013
What’s taking place in our nation isn’t a gun problem. It’s not an access problem. It’s a mental health problem.
